WELCOME TO YOUR COMMUNITY PLAN FOR TUAKAU & DISTRICTS [PORTWAIKATO,ONEWHERO,PUKEKAWA, AKA AKA AND ALL PLACES IN BETWEEN IN THE WAIKATO DISTRICT COUNCIL AREA]
This website has been created to promote the Community plan development process by the Taukau & Districts Community plan committee formed at the request of Waikato district council in April 2012. Our committee is made up of people in the area who want to contribute to the process of creating a community plan that will reflect the wishes of the community in all segments to the council for inclusion in its more formal development plans that effect the way we live and develop the area. The community plan gives guidance and helps the council implement better laws and requirements for the future of this area.
The community plan came together over 8 months and fully involved with the community.
Step 1 : formed the committee to drive the project DONE
Step 2: Ideas day 19 May at Tuakau Town hall and Port waikato community hall, and Onewhero hall , for the community to suggest ideas DONE
Step 3 : Business and landowners contribute ideas DONE
Step 4: Review existing strategy plans previously created for Franklin council for ideas DONE
Step 5: Committee creates draft community plan for discussion in community DONE
Step 6: Revisions and submission to Waikato Council DONE
Step7 : Circulate to community and copies to all relelevent people: DONE
